Antoni Wit

- conductor, born February 7, 1944 in Krakow. The State College of Music in Krakow (now the Academy of Music), he studied conducting with Henryk Czyz, composition with Krzyszt of Penderecki. Second place in the international competition cond uctor Herbert von Karajan in Berlin in 1971 marked the beginning of his career. He was, inter alia, Head of the Great Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television since 2002, is the general and artistic director of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, also lectured at the Academy of Music in Krakow.
